We will have beginner games like Sushi Go!, Splendor, Carcassonne, Ticket to Ride, Catan, & Codenames, as well as more advanced games like Wingspan and Everdell. Our typical turn-out is anywhere between 15-25. For people familiar with the hobby, feel free to bring your own games if you'd like. If you don't know how to play a game, we'll teach you! You should not expect to see anything mainstream like Monopoly, Scrabble, Boggle, Risk, Battleship, Yahtzee, or Poker. Anyone age 14 and up who is interested in playing great games with great people! Age 8 and up if accompanied by a participating adult and able to learn & play age 8+ games. The South Brunswick Library has a selection of games and staff members bring some of their own to share. Feel free to bring your favorite games or play one of ours. Learn new games or enjoy getting to play with real, actual people! We should be in our small meeting room (1A/1B), located to the right of the Borrower Services desk, however look for a sign just in case we have to change rooms. No registration is required but space is limited and will be given on a first come, first served basis. If parking is an issue, please feel free to park at the Municipal Lot nearby. Join the Highland Park High Rollers as we play board games at the local pub. Bring your own games from home or show up and play someone else’s! Any and all games are welcome, though we skew towards games that take no more than 45-60 minutes to play. For larger games, show up early and/or reach out to the group in advance to find players! No RSVP necessary, we only ask that you buy some kind of drink (alcoholic or not) from the bar if you can.
Join the Highland Park High Rollers to play games with other adults in the area at the Highland Park Public Library. Given the limited time, we aim to play games that take 45-60 minutes or less. Some games will be provided by the library, but we encourage everyone to bring their own.
We are a diverse community of gamers passionate about Board Gaming, Tabletop Gaming, Social Events, and more. We welcome all individuals from all walks of life, and are very accommodating for newcomers, people new to board games, or people wanting to check us out. This is a relaxed, drop-in community event focused on playing games, meeting people, and having a good time — no experience required. We bring a curated selection of modern board games, party games, and approachable strategy games. Whether you’re brand new to tabletop games or a seasoned player, there’s always something you can jump into. Our hosts are happy to teach rules and help match people to games. Come solo, bring friends, or just stop by to hang out. There’s no cost to attend — just show up, grab a seat, and play. Food and Drink also available on site before 8pm.
RSVP REQUIRED!!! Game players under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult! New members must fill out a profile when applying to Boardgames NJ Games will vary depending upon what members decide to bring. If you want to play something specific, bring it with you or request it with your RSVP or leave a comment. Beginners and experts alike are welcome. If you're a new player, please see a host if you need help to find a seat at a game. We have a limit of 25, so please RSVP each time you plan to attend. The owners of the store have an event running on the same night so they asked for a headcount from us to make sure they have enough space. So please RSVP as soon as you know you can attend. Gaming starts at 6 p.m. and ends at 9:50 p.m. The owners sell snacks and drinks and they are fine with food in the store, so feel free to bring your own food or grab something from the Italian/Mexican restaurant next door and bring it back to the store to eat!
